Get ready to slide into fun and friendship at the Kurling Festival! πŸ₯Œ This event is all about building social skills and a sense of belonging.Β This is a chance to try a new sport, connect with others, and shine! It’s not just a game; it’s an opportunity to build friendships and confidence in a supportive, fun environment. Come join us and find your team spirit! ✨

 

Objective: To increase confidence, engagement, and physical activity levels among pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who are less active or less engaged in PE. πŸ’ͺ😊

Intent: Build social skills and connections (i.e sense of belonging)

Target Audience: Each school is invited to nominate mixed-gender, teams of 8 pupils from Key Stage 2 who have SEND.

Please select pupils who:

  • Are not currently working at the expected level in PE. πŸ“ˆ
  • Are capable of working in a group. 🀝
  • Will represent the school in a mature and respectful manner. πŸŽ“
  • Are willing to try new activities and learn. πŸ€”πŸ’‘

Event Format:

  • Pupils will take part in a series of New Age Kurling sessions. 🎯
  • The event will be a carousel of fun, inclusive Kurling challenges and games. 🀸
  • All equipment will be provided.

Logistics:

  • The event will take place at the All Seasons Leisure Centre, Chorley. πŸ—ΊοΈ
  • Pupils should arrive in comfortable clothing and trainers. πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘•
  • Schools are responsible for their own transport and supervision. 🚌
  • A full risk assessment will be provided in advance of the event. βš οΈπŸ“

Key Outcomes:

  • Improved social skills and connections, fostering a sense of belonging and teamwork. 🀝
  • Increased confidence and engagement in physical activity. 🌟
  • An enjoyable and memorable sporting experience for all participants. πŸŽ‰πŸ˜ƒ
