Junction 4 Skatepark Festival

FreeUrban Wheels Experience
Objective:
To increase confidence, engagement, and physical activity levels among pupils who are less active or less engaged in PE.
Target Audience:
Each school is invited to nominate 5-7 boys from Year 5 , who are less active or less engaged in physical education.
Please select pupils who:
-
- Have not previously represented the school in sport.
- Are not currently working at the expected level in PE.
- Are capable of working in a team.
- Will represent the school in a mature and respectful manner.
- Are willing to try new activities and learn.
Event Format:
- Pupils will take part in a carousel of three urban sports:
- BMX
- Scooter
- Skateboard
- There will be 3 groups of up to 15 children, rotating through each activity station.
- All equipment will be provided, and sessions will be led by qualified instructors.
Logistics:
- Pupils should arrive in comfortable sportswear and trainers.
- Packed lunch required – children will eat after the activities.
- Schools are responsible for their own transport and supervision.
- A full risk assessment will be provided in advance of the event.
Key Outcomes:
- Build confidence in trying new physical activities.
- Encourage teamwork and resilience.
- Provide a positive and inclusive sporting experience.
