Invasion Festival Y3&4 ⚽️

Get ready to jump into the action at the Invasion Games Festival! 🏀 This is your chance to get involved in a range of exciting invasion games that are all about teamwork and having a blast. This event is designed to get more young people active and engaged in school sport. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build connections with your teammates and discover new skills in a fun, supportive environment. Come join us and find your place on the court! ✨

Objective: To increase confidence, engagement, and physical activity levels among pupils, using invasion games as a fun and accessible way to promote participation in school sport.

Intent:

Target Audience: Each school is invited to nominate a mixed-gender team of 10 pupils from Key Stage 2 who are capable but not elite athletes.

We kindly ask that you select pupils who:

  • Have not previously represented the school in a competitive capacity.
  • Are looking to improve their skills and confidence in a team environment.
  • Are capable of working well with others.
  • Will represent the school in a respectful manner.
  • Are willing to try new activities and learn.

Event Format:

  • Pupils will take part in a series of different invasion games and skill-building activities. These may include adapted versions of games like handball, basketball, or dodgeball.
  • The event will be a carousel of inclusive, non-competitive games and challenges.
  • All equipment will be provided.

Logistics:

  • Pupils should arrive in comfortable sportswear and trainers.
  • Water only – No energy drinks or juice
  • Schools are responsible for their own transport and supervision.

I deliver Bikeability training and after-school clubs and locally I spearhead the national initiative to ensure equal opportunities for girls in football and oversee our holiday camps. What motivates me is witnessing children surpass their own expectations. Outside of work, I enjoy playing rugby union and taking my two dogs for walks.
