Get ready to jump into the action at the Benchball Festival! 🏀 This is your chance to get involved in a fast-paced, exciting game that’s all about teamwork and having a blast. This event is designed to get more young people active and engaged in school sport. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build connections with your teammates and discover new skills in a fun, supportive environment. Come join us and find your place on the court! ✨
Festival Details
Objective: To increase confidence, engagement, and physical activity levels among pupils, using benchball as a fun and accessible way to promote participation in school sport. 💪😊
Intent:
Target Audience: Each school is invited to nominate a mixed-gender team of ten pupils from Key Stage 2 who are capable but not elite athletes.
We kindly ask that you select pupils who:
- Have not previously represented the school in a competitive capacity.
- Are looking to improve their skills and confidence in a team environment.
- Are capable of working well with others.
- Will represent the school in a respectful manner.
- Are willing to try new activities and learn.
Event Format:
- Pupils will take part in a series of benchball games and skill-building activities. 🎯
- The event will be a carousel of inclusive, non-competitive games and challenges. 🤸
- All equipment will be provided.
Logistics:
- Pupils should arrive in comfortable sportswear and trainers. 👟👕
- Schools are responsible for their own transport and supervision. 🚌
- A full risk assessment will be provided in advance of the event. ⚠️📝
Key Outcomes:
- Improved teamwork and communication skills. 🤝
- Increased confidence and engagement in physical activity. 🌟
- A deeper understanding of fair play and sportsmanship. 🙌
- An enjoyable and memorable sporting experience for all participants. 🎉😃

Bike Instructor & Lead for Holiday Camps and Girls Football
I deliver Bikeability training and after-school clubs and locally I spearhead the national initiative to ensure equal opportunities for girls in football and oversee our holiday camps. What motivates me is witnessing children surpass their own expectations. Outside of work, I enjoy playing rugby union and taking my two dogs for walks.
