Outdoor Adventure Festival 🗺️

Get ready for an exciting day of challenges and collaboration at the Outdoor Adventure Festival! This event is a fantastic opportunity to step out of the classroom and into a world of problem-solving and teamwork. We’re on a mission to build confidence and communication skills through a series of fun outdoor activities. It’s all about working together, trying new things, and discovering a new kind of fun. Let’s get outside and get active! ✨

Objective: To increase confidence, engagement, and physical activity levels among pupils, using outdoor adventure activities to promote problem-solving and teamwork.

Intent: Develop leadership, character and life skills

Target Audience: Each school is invited to nominate a mixed-gender team of ten children from Year 3 & 4, who are less active or less engaged in physical education.

Please select pupils who:

  • Have not previously represented the school in sport.
  • Are not currently working at the expected level in PE.
  • Are capable of working in a team.
  • Will represent the school in a mature and respectful manner.
  • Are willing to try new activities and learn.

Event Format:

  • Pupils will take part in a series of outdoor adventure activities, such as orienteering, problem-solving challenges, and teamwork games.
  • The event will be a carousel of fun, inclusive activities focused on collaboration.
  • All necessary equipment will be provided.

Logistics:

  • Pupils should arrive in school PE kit and trainers.
  • Schools are responsible for their own transport and supervision.
  • For drop-off and pick-up, please use the designated car park.
  • Water only – no energy drinks or juice.

I deliver Bikeability training and after-school clubs and locally I spearhead the national initiative to ensure equal opportunities for girls in football and oversee our holiday camps. What motivates me is witnessing children surpass their own expectations. Outside of work, I enjoy playing rugby union and taking my two dogs for walks.
