Cycle Instructors wanted to join our team

Chorley School Sports Partnership CIC are recruiting now for Cycling Instructors to deliver professional, dynamic and fun cycle training and activities to children and adults across the Chorley area.

Chorley SSP is the approved provider of Bikeability training for schools within Chorley Borough, working on behalf of Lancashire Council Road Safety Unit, Bikeability Trust and the Department For Transport.

Our core work is Bikeability Levels 1 & 2, which are delivered in Primary Schools to years 5 and 6. In addition, we offer many other modules and projects and these include Bikeability Balance, Learn to Ride, Bikeability Transition and Level 3 sessions.

We also organise and provide guided bike rides for both school groups and families plus adult training ranging from Learn to Ride through to Level 2 and 3 standard Bikeability and “Confident Commuter” for trainees that would like to start to commute to work by bike.

While most of our trainees are of Primary School age, we genuinely do work with people from 3 to 93 so there is plenty of variety in the working week.

You will be dynamic, self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a passion for enabling others to lead an active lifestyle. You must be a qualified, competent, regular cyclist, with your own roadworthy bike that you can use when delivering training. The working week is flexible, with some evening and weekend delivery. Generally, rotas are planned several weeks in advance, allowing instructors to plan their lives around the flexible work diary. Cancellations and amendments do sometimes occur however the relationships that we have with our clients help to minimise these significantly.

Subject to qualifications and experience, there may be opportunities for successful candidates to get involved with other areas within Chorley SSP, such as tournaments and festivals, sports coaching and facilities management.

Positions are available for both contract and freelance instructors.

Application deadline is 12pm, Thursday 31st January. Please download the Job Description & Person Specification, and an application form from the bottom of this page.

Chorley School Sports Partnership CIC is an equal opportunities employer.
