Chorley Grand Prix excitement mounting

Last Easter we loved seeing the UK's top pro cyclists competing wheel to wheel on the streets of Chorley at the first ever Chorley Grand Prix. Clearly so did pretty much the whole borough as the Eurosport commentators said that the crowds were the best they had ever seen for a domestic race. Praise indeed!

This year it's back and Chorley youngsters will again have the chance to race along the same finishing straight as the pros, and help to entertain the crowds in between laps of the main race.

Chorley Council and British Cycling are inviting children aged between 7 and 11 to ride the final part of the Chorley Grand Prix course on Saturday 26 March. They’re offering 50 children the opportunity to experience what it’s like to cross the official finish line of the Chorley Grand Prix in front of spectators on the day of race. If your child or children are competent in riding 300 metres and have their own bicycle and helmet, you can enter them by visiting the Chorley Grand Prix page of chorley.gov.uk here http://chorley.gov.uk/Pages/AtoZ/Chorley-Grand-Prix-2016.aspx and clicking on the sprint the finish challenge.
