Take part in the Chorley Grand Prix!

Chorley school children will be able to show off their cycling abilities on one of the biggest stages available within the UK on Easter Saturday. The UK professional peloton comes to town to compete in the Chorley Grand Prix, with the start and finish line right in the town centre on Park Road. With lots of activities taking place throughout the day alongside the race, crowds are expected to line the finish straight to enjoy the action.

With the pros riding 5 laps of over 20 miles each, Chorley Council and British Cycling would like local children to entertain the crowds while they wait for the pros to pass by again.

3 races have been arranged for the day which will take place after start, lap one and lap two. ·

Year 5/6 – 11am·

Year 7/8 – 11.50pm·

Year 9/10/11 – 12.40pm

All subject to change depending on elite race

The races will be a straight sprint along the finishing straight of the circuit, roughly 250-300m, finishing at the same finish line that the professional race will use.

The council use Eventbrite as an online booking system which we can use and parents can directly book their child on through this.  Access available shortly through the council website www.chorley.gov.uk
